Marco Evaristti´s christmas tree
Christmas tree created by artist and designer
The Utzon Center unites architecture, design and art, and we are therefore proud that we can display a Christmas tree of architectural dimensions to our visitors, which unites these three concepts . The artist is Marco Evaristti, the design is Peter J. Lassen’r, creator of Montana. The unique Christmas tree has been created for the atrium of the Utzon Center.
“Christmas is a matter of joint interest - no matter our cultural and religious background. It is a time where we get together and relax. It has been my intention to create a Christmas tree inviting to this sense of community. A tree, which is not only meant to be observed from the outside, but which you can walk through, see through and even take a hand to decorate. Luckily the Utzon Center fell in with the idea, and in the whole of December you can make your own individual decoration and put it on the common tree”, Marco Evaristti tells.
It is not the first time Marco Evaristti invites the visitors to participate in his works. In 2005 you could walk down a red carpet from Rådhuspladsen to Kgs. Nytorv in Copenhagen, in 2000 you could decide the fate of a since then world famous goldfish in a blender, just like at the exhibition “Just do it!” in 2007 in Nordjyllands Kunstmuseum you could shoot balloons with the text “uncle”, “mother”, “brother” eetc.
