Utzon´s masterpiece: Sydney Opera House
Since winning the competition to design a ´national opera house´for Sydney in 1957, Jørn Utzon´s masterpiece has become a defining symbol of Australia and an international archictectural landmark. From visionary pencil drawings in 1956 to World Heritage Site recognition in 207, the Sydney Opera House is a ´building for all time`.
This exhibition celebrates the history of this remarkable sturcture and the creativity of its architct, whose boyhood association with the Aalborg shipyards contributed to the inspiration that later shaped the Opera House´s unique shells.
The exhibition is produced by curator Anne Watson, architect Elisabeth Topsøe and head of exhibiton Anna-Maria Lund.
